Privacy Policy

Discretion is central to our service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. The data controller is [registered business name], reachable at support@royalmatch.co.ke.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone and an encrypted password.
- Matchmaking profile: gender, age, city, occupation, marital status, whether you have children, optional religion, your relationship goal, partner age range, preferences, deal-breakers and anything you choose to tell us about yourself.
- Companionship requests: occasion, city, date, duration, budget and notes.
- Status history of your applications and our internal notes.
- Visit data: when you view our public pages we record your IP address, approximate location (country and city), the page you landed on, the website that referred you and your browser type. It is visible only to administrators and deleted after 90 days. We use no tracking cookies. To work out approximate location we send your IP address to a geolocation service.
Sensitive data. Marital status, children and religion can be sensitive. We process them only with your explicit consent, given when you apply, and only to find you suitable matches. Share only what you are comfortable with. You may withdraw consent at any time.
We do not collect ID documents through the website. Identity checks are done offline by our team.
Why we use it
- To assess your application and find compatible matches.
- To contact you about your application, payment and introductions.
- To keep members safe, handle complaints and prevent fraud.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who sees it
Only authorised staff. A potential match receives limited details (such as first name, age, occupation, city and preferences) so they can decide whether to agree to an introduction, and receives contact details only when both people consent. We never sell your data or publish profiles. We may disclose data where the law requires.
Security
Passwords are hashed, access is role-based and admin actions are recorded. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting you occurs, we will notify you and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep records for [12] months after your last activity, then delete or anonymise them, unless the law requires longer or a complaint is open. You can delete your account from your profile, which removes your account and requests.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict processing and withdraw consent. Email support@royalmatch.co.ke. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
Cookies
We use only a session cookie that keeps you logged in.
